This is wooden OOAK art doll created by me in 2016. It was presented at the European Professional Doll Art festival 2016.
Height 90 cm (without the feather).
Materials: Wood, silk, leather, pearls.
This doll was partly inspired by Boudoir dolls of 1915-1930. I loved the idea behind the boudoir dolls. They were embodying women’s desires to become free. That’s why many of them were holding cigars in their mouths. This is something that was absolutely unacceptable for a woman to do (at least in public).
Boudoir dolls usually had cloth bodies, but I decided to work with my favorite material – wood. It gave me an opportunity to show the idea of a free, provocative woman through the plasticity of her body.
